Sexangle (1975)

a little bit of a departure here from the usual album post, though still music-related... esp for any throbbing gristle/chris and cosey fans.

sexangle is a "blue movie" starring none other than Cosey Fanni Tutti. produced by the infamous [john lindsay] under the pseudonym of Karl Ordinez, this was one of the many endeavors in the adult industry that cosey used as both financing for Coum Transmissions and eventual fodder for the [Prostitution exhibition] at the ICA in 1976.

be forewarned, this is an real 70's porno film (grainy vhs-to-dvd transfer and all), and one of the more interesting artifacts of the entire tg legacy... you'll see cosey up close and personal and if you have any qualms about such things, just move on.

on a related note, [chronditic sound] recently released the soundtrack to this on cassette in an edition of 50.

If you said "one of the least interesting artifacts of the entire TG legacy" I would have agreed with you.

anything regarding tg is interesting to me... i just view it as a nice footnote to cosey's career. she even listed in on her website...

One TG head's "least interesting artifact" is another's fascinating ephemera....

Personally I fall into the latter camp, not only can it be argued that COUM Transmissions and their ICA Prostitution Exhibit and perhaps the Death Factory & TG itself would (at the very least) have a very different form and structure had Cosey not engaged in these kinds of economic-cultural practices...to put it country simple, she brought home the bio-survival tickets which...

allowed the boys to play, it facilitated the making and buying of technology and it also provided the raw materials for COUM Transmission and aspects of TG's cultural production...

...plus you have got to love the entire seventies English porno aesthetic, the film is just a scream as they say, who can fail to love a 70s porno flick with the lines:

"Let me help you, I'll just take off my dress, I musn't get it creased"

21:40s of my life meaningfully spent!

Does anyone know anything about the "Sexangle" logo? Is it an original logo that advertised the film or a contemporary occultural image to accompany its sale/distribution? , either way its pretty damned cool as the kids used to say.
